Monolock Hinge: The ingenious MonoLock Hinge system is the reason behind Cynergy's low profile receiver – and its uncanny strength. The MonoLock Hinge represents the integration of the traditional mono-block and the hinge. The hinge has significantly more surface area to pivot on, resulting in less wear over time. Rectangular locking pins provide additional strength and feature a unique, Wear-In Relief feature that allows wear without hindering lock-up. The new MonoLock Hinge gives the Cynergy the lowest profile receiver of any 12 gauges over and under shotgun. This innovative design places the barrels in correct alignment with the shooter, making the shotgun a natural, fluid extension of the body. Improved ergonomics enhance shouldering and hand/eye coordination while reducing felt recoil and muzzle jump.

Inflex Recoil Pad: Defying recoil pad tradition, the Browning Inflex Recoil Pad system succeeds in styling, versatility and recoil absorption. The deep Inflex pad provides long travel recoil reduction for a massive 25% decrease in felt recoil. Three pad lengths are available in 1/2" increments to provide an impressive length of pull adjustment to fit a wide variety of shooters. A 1/4" spacer is also included for further customization.

Mechanical Trigger: Cynergy shotguns feature the Reverse Striker-- a newly designed, striker, based, mechanical trigger system. The mechanical trigger offers the benefits of crisper feel, lighter pull, and shorter locktime and less overtravel. The Cynergy Sporting shotguns comes equipped with the Triple Trigger System, which allows the shooter to adjust the length of pull and switch between a wide checkered, a narrow smooth and a wide smooth canted trigger shoe.

Adjustable Comb: Includes an integrated, adjustable comb system to allow the gun to be easily customized to the individual shooter. Drop at comb adjustments are made in 1/8" increments. For customization of cast on/cast off, accessory combs can be purchased.

Back-Bored Barrels: All Cynergy shotguns feature lightweight, back-bored barrels. These barrels have a bore diameter increased to its maximum specification. This reduces the friction of the shot charge against the barrel wall, resulting in increased shot velocity. Additionally, because there is less constriction or pressure from the forcing cones on a shot charge, there are fewer deformed pellets, which lead to more uniform patterns than with standard barrels. Ported barrels are featured on the Cynergy Sporting model, barrel porting works in conjunction with the new low profile receiver to further reduce felt recoil and muzzle jump. These reductions serve to increase shooting comfort and improve follow-up shot speed and accuracy.

Impact Ejectors: New Browning Impact Ejectors ensure solid ejection of empty shells from the chamber. The ejector is aided by the impact of a second striker spring, which gives more positive ejection than the push imparted on competitor's ejectors. The automatic ejectors positively eject fired shells when the breech is opened. Unfired shells are elevated for easy removal.

Standard features of the Browning Gold shotgun are:

Action: The larger 3 1/2" chambered version is built to handle a range of 1 1/8 oz. field loads to hard-hitting 3 1/2" magnums. With lighter loads, the unique gas system in these guns utilizes most of the energy of expanding gases to operate the action. With magnum loads, excess gas is vented out the lateral vents in the piston. The Gold has a gas valve on the inside of the gas piston. Because the gas piston and valve operate independently, less pressure is exerted on the piston resulting in greater longevity and more efficient operation than other gas-operated autoloaders.
Additionally, the extremely short piston stroke of the Gold limits the amount of combustion gas that gets into the receiver. The shooter will benefit from a cleaner operation.

Instead of trying to overcome friction, powder gases expend more energy on the wad base, resulting in an increase in shot velocity. Because there is less constriction or pressure from the forcing cones on a shot charge, there are fewer deformed shot pellets. A greater number of ballistically superior round pellets in a shot charge means more uniform patterns-delivering more shot pellets in the effective part of the pattern.

Back-boring works hand-in-hand with Browning's Invector-Plus interchangeable choke tube system. The longer choke taper inside an Invector-Plus choke tube produces patterns with more uniform densities.
